Clockmaking: A Larsen Family Tradition
My father, Sanford Larsen,

received his watch, clock and jewelry repair training in Wisconsin in the mid 1920s. He opened his own Watch, Clock and Jewelry Repair Shop there and remained in Wisconsin for 25 years. In the early 1950s he moved our family and his business to Washington State. My father loved his work and he continued in this business until his death in 1996 at the age of 93. He devoted the final 20 years of his life to making beautiful grandfather clocks, mantle clocks and desk clocks. Grandfather clocks were his specialty and there are many of them throughout the United States.
Also during his last 20 years, my father encouraged my woodworking abilities and sparked my interest to keep his clock building alive. I started with small wall clocks made from trees on property my wife, Patricia, and I own. On the weekends I used my chainsaw to cut rough boards of cherry, alder and birch. After 10 years of clockmaking for friends and family, I decided to start selling them. Now, recently, I have turned to the internet to make my clocks more widely available.
Keep in mind that all of my
clocks made by me personally, by hand. I design them myself so each clock is different in some way (no two are identical, no automated assembly). Each piece of wood is cut and assembled one step at a time to provide a time piece worthy of being handed down from generation to generation. My clocks feature quartz battery movements that are very accurate. All in all, I believe you will be very pleased with the quality and workmanship of my handmade clocks - in fact, all clocks come with a 14-day No-Questions-Asked Satisfaction Guarantee. Additional clock styles and mechanical movements may be offered at a later date.
